Hello, I'm Kayleigh, also known as The Historical Herbologist!
My goal is to enlighten and captivate everyone with the rich history and cultural significance of herbal medicine. By delving into the past, we can explore the folklore and superstitions surrounding these plants, pondering whether they were believed to bring harm or healing, and discover their relevance in modern-day practices.

My Story
I have been captivated by the world of Herbology all my life and I had the incredible opportunity to study it at the beginning of 2023. Achieving a distinction in the Certificate of Herbology from The Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh in June 2023 was a significant accomplishment for me, and I am currently immersed in a two-year Diploma in Herbology that will conclude in 2025.
My particular interest lies in the captivating intersection of plant lore and superstition with the botanical aspects of plants, as well as the evolution of the use of medicinal plants throughout human history. I am always eager to engage in discussions about herbs, and I frequently deliver enlightening talks on this subject at The Royal Horticultural Society, where I have the opportunity to share this unique area of study with a diverse audience.
My passion for Herbology took root during my childhood explorations of the heathlands and meadows near my home. The diverse array of plants I encountered, along with the captivating stories and superstitions associated with them, have left an indelible impression on me. In addition to my academic pursuits, I also dedicate my spare time to providing guidance and support to local charities by consulting on the design and construction of physic and herb gardens.
